Throw your croissants in the air like ya just don’t care because Pinehurst is getting a little more Francy. Offering everything from macarons and croissants to coffee, wine and craft beer, new French café Agora is on track to open at the beginning of July in the historic Pinehurst Bank building.
Owned by David Tran and his wife, Ginny, Agora will serve as a café, as well as a community gathering space for moms and entrepreneurs.
A stay-at-home mom and baker, David says Ginny has dreamed of opening up a spot for fellow “momtrepreneurs” to expand their side hustles. After coming across the building while touring office spaces for himself with Bell Manley Properties, he knew it’d be a perfect fit for Ginny.
The Trans hope to open up Agora’s commercial kitchen for those momtrepreneurs to use to expand their own baking businesses.
“Moms do so much,” David says. “Their own small businesses are important, and we want to be a resource for them to grow.”
Additional plans for Agora include expanding the outside courtyard into a patio, and a specialty wine room. Eventually, they’ll be bringing in a chef to serve up fresh salads, sandwiches and more.
“The word ‘agora’ means gathering place, and we want the café to be just that,” David says. “We people to come and share ideas, good food and good company.”
