You’ve heard of Community Thrift, now allow us to introduce you to Community Subs. It opened last week and yes, it has the same owner as the thrift shop, Mark Remmenga. Mark actually worked in the restaurant industry for over 25 years before opening his first thrift shop. After the Subway on N.C. Highway 5 closed, he saw an opportunity. “People are happy something’s here again,” he says.
“My goal at the thrift store was to be able to help people. My goal is the same here,” says Mark who aims to keep prices fair and provide value for the price. Besides subs, customers can also order salads and soups. For those who can’t decide, there’s a pick-two option for a small sandwich and soup.
