A new shop is opening in downtown Carthage: Eliza Quinn Creates. Located at 14 Courthouse Square, the store will feature items made by owner Erin Rembert, local makers, and other crafters from around the country. “I want the store to feel unique,” says owner Erin, “I’m only going to have a few of each item before I change it up.”

The unique store will undergo aesthetic changes throughout the year with the seasons. For the winter months, the store will be open 10-5 Thursday-Friday and 10-4 on Saturdays.

The business idea came to Erin after moving around the country as part of the military family lifestyle. “Constantly moving makes you always want to get new stuff and try to make a new place feel cozy right away so the family can adjust,” says Erin. She began helping others decorate their homes until it became more than a hobby.

From helping friends, to pop-up events, to vendor space at Twigg and Co. — the business idea snowballed into what Erin only hopes to take even further in the future. “There’s nothing I won’t try,” she says.

Erin’s last move was eight years ago to Moore County, with her husband and two sons. She’s come to have a heart for small towns. Setting up her business in a place that felt like home was something important to her.

The grand opening is Friday-Saturday, January 14-15. The store will be hosting celebrations through Saturday complete with refreshments, giveaways, and more.
