A GoFundMe started for the family of Spc. Christopher Harris, who was killed in action last week, has raised more than $50,000. A few local businesses have also come forward to help out:
:: Texas Roadhouse: A percentage of the Aberdeen location’s sales on Thursday will be donated to the family. The restaurant opens at 4 p.m.
:: Forte Fitness: On Wednesday, Aug. 16, 100 percent of the registration fees for dance fitness classes at 4:30 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. will be donated to the family. The fitness center will be collecting donations of baby items through the rest of the month.
:: Play Escape: A Princess and Superhero Meet and Greet will benefit the Harris family. Tickets are $10 for the Friday, Aug. 18 event, and 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the cause.
