Egg Hunts
Now through Saturday, April 19: Brooklyn Pickle has partnered with local businesses hiding easter eggs around Southern Pines. Find and bring eggs to the restaurant to redeem for all bowl of soup, half sandwich or even a whole sandwich. Pickle me this.
Now through April 20: Hunt for eggs filled with prizes and giveaways from local businesses throughout downtown Carthage. Here’s a list of participating shops.
Saturday, April 19, 10 a.m. to noon: Every bunny gets their own basket at Carthage United Methodist Church, then gets a chance to fill it with eggs, crafts, goodie bags, a stuffed animal and surprises. The church is located at 401 McReynolds St. For information, call 910-947-2705.
Saturday, April 19, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: First Baptist Church of Pinehurst has an Easter Egg Hunt on its front lawn with hot dogs, prize drawings, bouncy houses and more fun. Here’s your sweet eggscape.
Saturday, April 19, 1 p.m.: Community Congregational Church hosts an Easter Egg Hunt at 1 p.m., free and open to the community. Hoppin’ good time.
Saturday, April 19, 3 p.m.: Find eggs filled with coins, candy, and raffle tickets at Railhouse Brewery. This one sounds more adult oriented but they did note in their instagram post that kids are welcome. Wander the pub.
Saturday, April 19 and Sunday, April 20: Book “Bunny Tails & Rails,” an Easter excursion on The Aberdeen Carolina & Western Railway. Enjoy an Easter tale and treat aboard a 30-minute train ride, participate in an Easter egg hunt, explore fire trucks at the West End Fire Department and get your face painted. Choo Choo.
Saturday and Sunday April 19 and 20: Join Aloha Safari Park for an Easter Egg Hunt with multiple times for various age groups. See ’em here.
Sunday, April 20, 11 a.m.: Gates open for the hunt at Misty Morning Ranch, an ostrich farm in Robbins. Kids 11 and younger will hunt plastic eggs; kids 12 and older and adults can hunt for ostrich eggs (don’t worry, they’re just the shells). Parking is $5 per car; wristbands are $6 for the plastic egg hunt and $10 for the ostrich egg hunt. There will be bounce houses, ostrich tacos and live music. Picnic baskets and lawn chairs are needed. Don’t eggnore this.

Saturday, April 19, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.: Hop into 9th of September Pottery Painting where two people can paint for the price of one, plus there’s free face painting available. Bring somebunny you love.
Easter Brunch
Banq on Broad: From salads and shrimp cocktails to deviled eggs, salmon, ham, lamb and grilled chicken plus too many sides to mention, Banq on Broad is hosting a brunch that has everything covered. Sunday, April 20, with four seating times.
Elliotts on Linden: From a seafood and Crudo bar to carved entrees like leg of lamb and prime rib and six types of dessert, Elliotts will impress as usual. Sunday, April 20, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.: here’s the menu.
Ironwood: This Midland Road staple has a three-course brunch that’s a go-to for many locals. Sunday, April 20; make a reservation.
Pinehurst Resort: Enjoy a buffet with soup, salad, fruit and brunch faves plus a seafood bar, a carving station, eight dessert choices, a fried green tomatoes Benedict station and *takes breath* fresh cotton candy whipped up for kids of all ages. Everyone gets a complimentary glass of champagne, a mimosa or a mocktail; a full cocktail bar (card only) will be available. Sunday, April 20; the noon seating is already sold out.

Friday, April 11, 6 p.m.: Bring your flashlight for an after-dark Easter Egg Hunt at Memorial Park with crafts, bounce houses, photos with the head hare and more. Bring your eggsray vision.
Saturday, April 12, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Join The Santana Center, a nonprofit for equine rescue and adoption, for a Happy Hooves Easter Fest with face painting, a bouncy house, sock races, photo ops and meet and greets with rescue horses. Tickets are $20 per family. Meet the neighbors.
Saturday, April 12, 10:30 a.m.: The Village of Pinehurst hosts its Easter Egg Hunt for kids 9 and younger, with hunt times and locations divided by age group (each hunt includes one eggstra special prize). After filling your basket, hop over to fun family activities, including photos with the Easter Bunny. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Show me the bunny.
Saturday, April 12, 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.: Aberdeen Parks & Recreation hosts its Easter Eggstravaganza at Malcolm Blue Farm with egg hunts for kids 9 and younger, photos with the Easter Bunny, pony rides, train rides, a petting zoo and face painting. Food trucks Roasty Toasty, Cookies-N-Moore and Baja Hotdogs will be on site. Bring your favorite basket case.
Saturday, April 12, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Carthage hosts its annual hunt, with the Easter Story plus prizes, a hot dog lunch and fellowship. Eggcitement is in the air.
Saturday, April 12, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Culdee Presbyterian Church will host a community funday event and Easter Egg hunt. Bring the kids for a free hot dog lunch. There will be a firetruck and other activities at 916 N.C. 73 in West End. Everybunny’s gonna have fun.
Saturday, April 12, 1:15 p.m.: James Creek Cider House will have a kids Easter Egg hunt with candy and prizes, plus a special prize for the parent whose child finds the least amount of eggs. No cheating.
Sunday, April 13, 1 p.m.: Rhizome Houseplants hosts a kids craft day, including photos with the Easter Bunny. Plant yourself here.
Sunday, April 13, 3-5 p.m.: The Outpost in Pinehurst will have Beatrix Potter-themed activities, the Pint-Sized Pasture and photos with the Easter Bunny. It’s free and open to the public. Sweet treats, sweeter company.
Monday, April 14, 4 p.m.: The Aberdeen Fire Department hosts an Egg Drop Challenge, where families can work together to build containers for plastic eggs — each will be dropped from the firetruck ladder to see which eggs survived the fall. Don’t be Humpty Dumpty.
Thursday, April 17, 10:30 a.m.: You and your pooch can pop over to Martin Dog Park in Southern Pines for the Dog Gone Easter Egg Hunt featuring games, photos with the Easter Bunny and a hunt for treats. Hoppy tails.
