It’s The Leash They Could Do

Doggy daycare is about to get even cooler thanks to the Waggin’ Wagon. This modified school bus, brought to you by Cayce Lockett, picks up well-socialized dogs from their homes for field trips to the dog park. The business will operate on a pay-per-ride model with multi-mutt discounts available. “It’s not going to be the cheapest but it’s an experience,” she says. Plus, she has to factor in the cost of gas, employee pay, insurance and, most importantly, treats.

Cayce is still working out the kinks but plans to have some meetup days at the dog park as well as pup and parent ride-alongs. It’s important to her to ensure all dogs boarding are properly vaccinated and that they will be on their best behavior. Like your middle school bus driver, she will 100% turn this thing around.

Cayce plans to operate 2-3 days a week, with each day ideally separated by town. Dogs will be clipped into their seats and there’s room for 8-10 pups at a time. Don’t worry, she plans to have three humans with the dogs at all times. “We want people to trust us,” says Cayce.

A certified dog lover, Cayce saw similar business ideas on Instagram and thought, “That is fun!” The Waggin’ Wagon will be at Red’s Corner March 15 for a meet and greet and Cayce plans to launch her sign-up shortly after that. In the meantime, dog moms and dads can follow on Instagram. Woof.
