Donut Worry, It’s Allgood

On June 2, Sherri and David Allgood opened their food tuck, It’s Allgood. This family ran truck is inspired by David’s mother, Pandora, or as everyone else knew her, Ms. Penny. You can spot her picture by the ordering window.

David has had the dream of opening up a food truck for years, but it wasn’t until recently that the opportunity arose. When Sherri took on a position at the nonprofit Sandhills Cooperation Association, her schedule became more flexible, and the couple took advantage by pressing the gas on their food truck idea.

They are parked at 1020 West Pennsylvania Ave in Southern Pines every Monday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Although they’re based between Moore and Montgomery County, you can find them in places like Winston-Salem and Greensboro.

There are a variety of menu items, some vegan, but Sherri’s favorite is the Philly Steak Sub. Their donut burger is a popular item with their younger customers — a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onion between two whole Krispy Kreme Donuts. We’d say these customers were just doing it for the ‘gram, but after trying it, we see why it’s a hit.

You can also order a side of David’s secret sauce, or some wing sauce for a little spice.

David first had the idea while watching a cooking show. Him and Sherri gave it a test run at the ministry they attend in Biscoe, and it was a hit, just like it’s been at the truck.
