Drop and Give Me Zen

A new yoga studio opened today, Feb. 9, in downtown Southern Pines. Kairos Yoga Studio is brought to you by Kai Salang, a familiar face and yoga enthusiast whose passion is teaching. “After over a decade of being in this business and career, it was time for a big leap into the next phase,” says Kai.

When it came to naming the business, Kai knew she didn’t want anything generic — she wanted meaning, something that reflected her. While searching for cool Greek words, the kind that don’t always have a direct translation in English, she found “Kairos.” It translates roughly to “in the moment,” or seizing that perfect opportunity. It also carries her name, making it an easy choice.

Kairos Yoga will be open seven days a week, with heated and unheated classes, sound baths, workshops, an express lunch hour class twice a week, and even free informal meditation sessions.

With 15 instructors on board, the lineup stays flexible. And if you’re looking to level up your game, Kai is also a CrossFit coach so she’s blending strength and movement to create a yoga sculpt class that brings the best of both worlds. “I think the wellness vibe in this community is growing so much and I think that’s awesome,” she says.

The front of the studio has cubbies, a changing area and a small selection of yoga accessories and merch for sale. Drop in or choose from different class packages. Find it at 140 E. Connecticut Avenue, Southern Pines. Namaste.
