String Along

A new string ensemble named The Treble Makers is available to play at your next event. The group is led by April Collins, who also teaches the Carolina Philharmonic Junior Orchestra. “In the last year or so I recognized several players advanced enough to play at weddings or other events,” she says.

The group currently consists of nine musicians playing violin, viola, bass and cello. The youngest player is in 8th grade. “People are surprised when they hear us because they see the age of the kids but they sound really good,” says April. The Treble Makers can play anything from classical to movie tunes to modern songs you’d hear on a radio.

“We work hard and we laugh a lot,” says April. If you’re interested in booking the group for an event you can email or call (910) 639-5663.
