Mason’s and The Leadmine to Open New Restaurants

Mason’s Restaurant & Grocery and The Leadmine recently announced plans to open new restaurants, both of which are set to open this year. Here’s what we know so far:

Mason’s is Expecting a Baby Sister

And they’re giving us another reason to loosen our belts a notch with the addition of a wood-fired, Neapolitan-style pizza restaurant to downtown Aberdeen.

Named for owners Brian and Alison Hainley’s daughter, Grace, Pizzeria Grazia is slated to open late this year next to Mason’s, on N. Sycamore Street.

Along with artisan, wood fired pizza, Pizzeria Grazia will offer seasonal salads, charcuterie and cheese boards and a selection of Italian beer and wine. It’ll be open for dine-in and counter service through lunch and dinner, Tuesday through Sunday. The Hainleys hope to eventually offer delivery.

“We, in collaboration with the building’s owners, have spent a lot of time planning and investing in this renovation,” Alison says. “Downtown Aberdeen is quickly becoming a culinary destination, and we are looking forward to Pizzeria Grazia being a part of it.”

Also expanding their restaurant repertoire is The Leadmine, with Yellowbird Southern Table + Bar. The new venture is generating even more buzz with a sign at the former home of Famous Toastery (100 Pavilion Way Suite B in Southern Pines).

Plans for Yellowbird include brunch, lunch and supper options and of course, cocktails. They’ll be open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m.

An opening date has yet to be announced, but co-owner Sonja McCarrell says they’ll do it up right with a grand opening event and social media launch. Keep an eye on Yellowbird’s IG for updates.
