Husband and wife team Ryan and Susan Lund took over the downtown Southern Pines restaurant this year. Though Ryan has spent the last several years honing his culinary skills in Minneapolis, the couple was married here — and Susan grew up with the previous owner’s daughter, long before the restaurant was known as P’zza.

The two plan to enhance the menu with fresh, house-made pasta, and use the woodfired oven to cook more things, like hot wings by the pound.

Etalia is currently only open for dinner, but a lunch menu is in the works. There is a wide selection of wine and an expanding selection of beer, but no mixed drinks. A salad, a pizza and an order of fresh pasta will set you back about $40. Everything on the kids’ menu is $5, and they’ll eat for free on Sundays.

Meet the couple this Sunday during an open house from 3-5 p.m. There will be samples, face painting and prizes.
