Originally from California, chef Scott Hasemeier has spent the last 28 years seeing the country with his wife, a Lt. Colonel who is currently stationed at Fort Bragg. He’s worked as a chef in restaurants all over the country (locally at Forrest Creek, Elliotts on Linden and Wolcott’s), and just two years ago discovered a love for sweets. He’s passing that on to us as Form V (as in 5) Chocolates.

Yes, those are all hand-painted. No, we don’t doubt Scott’s sanity at all. | Photo via Form V Chocolates on Facebook

Scott debuted his hand-painted bonbons at Pinehurst’s Chocolate and Wine Walk, last weekend, giving out nearly 400 samples while taking orders for special flavors.

So, what’s with the name? It’s a nod to the science behind the crystallization of cocoa butter that gives Scott’s chocolates what he calls a “shiny complexion” — one that only looks good on bonbons.

He’s currently offering a box of 6 for $10 in flavors like Sweet Smoke (chocolate surrounding caramel with smoked sea salt); Sun Kissed (dark chocolate with a lime white chocolate ganache filling); and Butter Me Up (dark chocolate with a butter popcorn filling). See a full list here.

Order via email at formVchocolates@gmail.com; pick up some ready-made options at The Village Fox, in downtown Pinehurst; or watch for updates on his business via Facebook.
