More is Moore

Downtown Carthage is still on the path to revitalization and the newest tenant, right off the Courthouse circle, is Moore Coffee. The coming coffee shop is brought to you by Allen and Johanna Williams. The couple moved to the area in 2021 and have considered themselves Carthaginians ever since. 

“This has always been a dream of ours,” says Johanna, “and it’s a great spot.” All of the windows are an added bonus. The couple, who love houseplants, plan to sell them in the coffee shop, each with its own QR code for care tips. They’ll also offer pastries and New York–style bagels.

The idea is for the coffee shop to be a place people can unwind with their families. “We want face-to-face interaction, real coffee mugs, comfy seating,” says Allen. As you can see, Moore Coffee is still a work in progress but they hope to have it ready this summer. Until then, follow along on IG for updates.
