Get a Load of This Fresh New Spot

Muscadine Cottage Soap Company owners Barry and Amanda Wallace are feeling extra bubbly thanks to the upcoming grand opening of their first “storefront.” Technically, the shop is inside Design Market of the Pines on N.C. 5, but they designed the space to look like a store within a store. If you’re new here, Muscadine Cottage is a local small business specializing in all natural laundry soap, bar soap, creams and more.

The couple already sells at local markets, online and at a few local retail shops but Amanda always wanted a storefront of her own. When looking in Aberdeen she realized a vendor marketplace like the Design Market was right up her alley. “It gives me the ability to stay home with my kids and homeschool while giving people a place to actually see everything we have,” says Amanda. “This was just the perfect marriage between Muscadine Cottage and The Design Market,” adds Barry.

The duo is bee-yond excited about their newest line, a Purple Honey Laundry Soap made with purple honey from Dee’s Bees. It’s available in three bases: botanical, goat’s milk or tallow, each with different scent options. “Honey is a humectant,” explains Amanda, which means it helps draw in and maintain moisture in your skin while keeping clothes fresh.

Amanda is eager to reach new clientele but for repeat customers, the Design Market will also serve as an additional local pickup option
