What’s the Traffic Situation?
Meet the Final Boss. Airboss, that is. Yes, that’s what they’ve named this lil guy.

The mobile air traffic control system will help the Moore County Airport manage a record number of traffic — an estimated 2,000 flights carrying over 5,000 passengers throughout the week.
OK, what about land traffic?
- Championship parking will be by permit, and restricted to large lots in West End and Aberdeen. More on that from the U.S. Open fan guide.
- According to the Village of Pinehurst, there will be 130 buses providing transportation from the above lots from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day, and some delays can be expected during peak arrival and departure times, between 7-11 a.m. and 3:30-7:30 p.m. More than 100 highway patrol officers will be posted throughout the area in addition to local traffic enforcement.
- Theoretically, travel through the Pinehurst Traffic Circle could be smoother than ever — and some longtime locals will tell you that between the offsite lots and increased police presence, traffic flows better when the Open is in town. As The Sway is only 1 dog year old, we cannot confirm.
