Union Pines High School agricultural teacher, Thadd Davis, has been growing pumpkins since he was 18. His hobby has grown over the years into Parkwood Farm in Carthage, where he specializes in pumpkins and deer corn.

“Fall has always been my favorite season,” says Thadd, “My birthday is in the fall. I just started growing stuff for fun.”

You can find pumpkins ranging from $1 to $12 every day of the week — as Thadd says, “when the sun is shining, the farm is open.” You can also find corn stalks, deer corn and bales, and of course a gourd-geous display for a photo-op.
