Local business owners and vendors turned out to celebrate the groundbreaking of Village Pine Venue in Carthage on Wednesday night, featuring charcuterie, ice cream and drinks plus trolley tours to nearby attractions.
The venue is a new venture by Melissa McPeake (pictured above on the far right, breaking ground with her family), who saw the need for a large venue in the area coming from her background in the hotel industry.
“I wanted to create something no one else had,” Melissa says. Plans for the project have been in the works for a little over a year.
The site includes special places for bride and grooms to prepare; the bridal suite is complete and the groom’s garage is mostly finished. A versatile banquet hall is set to overlook the pond, with multiple areas including a kid’s room, green room and conference space.
