On Saturday, the Carolina Hotel’s West Lawn will reopen as a skating rink complete with music and lights. It’s 3,000 square feet, which is 1,000 square feet more than last year. The surface is plastic — but Christmas music, pretty decor, and an occasional shower of soapy water (aka snow) make it fun for the kids. Tickets are $10.
