Meet Aaron Jackson, the 20yo behind Southern Pines’ newest drink stop. This Pinecrest grad and college sophomore has opened Polar Ices, his first storefront, on Turner Street.
It’s the next step in Aaron’s Italian ice business he started with his grandpa at the age of 13 — you’ve probably seen him and his family serving Polar Ices from a concession trailer. Here, Aaron has added boba smoothies, espresso and flavored lemonades to the menu.
“A lot of kids my age are like I want to buy a car, I want to move out, but I’m thinking about what can help me in the long run,” he says. “I’ve always liked being the boss and running things myself. … I want to start my own thing that I can grow.”
