Pollywog’s Play Pad Reopens with New Owner, New Location

If you’ve spent the past year and a half mourning the loss of Pollywog’s Play Pad, chin up, buttercup. With a new owner and new location at 155 Hall Avenue in Southern Pines (beside Thyme & Place), Pollywog’s 2.0 is stepping back onto the scene this Friday, from 9-2.

Like the OG Pollywog’s, the new space features imagination-friendly stations and the same “stay and play” business model, but owner Elyse King has put her own spin on things, designing the space to resemble a mini downtown Southern Pines.

For $10 a day per child, you can sit back and relax while your offspring makes pizzas at a mini replica of SoPies, brews up Lilly Pad Lattes at a Swank-themed coffee station, scoops ice cream at The Ice Cream Parlor, or dishes out açai at the Berri Bowlful food truck.

Elyse started as an employee at the former Pollywogs location (Harbor Place on SE Broad Street in Southern Pines). While living in Colorado, Elyse learned of Pollywogs closing down, and when her husband’s job allowed them to move back to the area, she decided to purchase the business.

Following its soft opening next week, Pollywog’s Play Pad will be open from 9-2, Monday thorugh Saturday. In the meantime, keep an eye on their Instagram and Facebook pages for updates on monthly membership rates, private party offerings and details on a grand opening event.
