Earlier this year, the administration at Sandhills Community College approached Railroad Deli with an offer to move its Vass operation to the college’s cafeteria. Owners Andrea and Rebekah Henley jumped on the train, and are now dishing out deli favorites in Pinehurst.

“There is so much equipment here. I want to take full advantage of it,” says Andrea, who plans to slowly expand the menu and offer a dinner options for those taking night classes, and for members of the Boys and Girls Club (which recently expanded to SCC). More vegetarian options are also on deck.

The Railroad Deli has also taken over the coffee bar. Andrea told us to let people know not to worry, she’ll still be making her signature homemade ranch. “It’s like the nectar of the gods,” Rebekah says.

SCC’s cafeteria is open to the public. Stop in for a bite between 7:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
