Students could attend campus at what is now the soccer field at Rassie Wicker Park for up to two years. As Pinehurst Elementary is torn down and replaced with a larger model, classes would be held at the park in six modular units, of 6,500 square feet each. A plan for exactly how the units will accommodate 500 students — and how meals would be handled— has yet to be revealed.
Construction of the new Pinehurst Elementary (and the temporary campus) is dependent on voter approval of a $103 million bond referendum on May 8.
