Sea This New Spot

The owners of Fonda Lupita, named one of the best new restaurants in the country in 2021, have opened a new spot: Mariscos No. Juan. The street style Mexican seafood restaurant opened in Sanford last week featuring ceviche, aguachiles, cócteles, and tacos.

“Sanford has plenty of Mexican restaurants,” says manager Alondra Frausto. “We wanted to do something different because there’s nowhere that is strictly seafood here.”

Mariscos No. Juan has a counter order model, a bright and colorful atmosphere, outdoor seating and fun drinks. Order a giant agua fresca in flavors like pineapple or melon. If you need something a little stronger, order a beer or michelada starting this weekend.

“In our family, seafood is our comfort food. It cures hangovers, and spices help you sweat it out,” says Alondra. Fishing for more of what makes it unique? Most of the menu is cooked only using lime juice.
