Bandanas and fashion scarves are covering some serious ground this season so we talked to a few local boutique owners to get their takes:

Marie & Marcele Boutique: Owner Crystal Brown loves that many scarves mimic designer styles but can be found at an affordable price. “It gives you more ways to wear one thing,” she says, “See how that changes the whole vibe of the dress? And everyone has a black dress in their closet.” Crystal says scarves are a great way to take attention away from your midsection, if tied diagonally around a dress. Marie & Marcele Boutique is leaning into art prints for its scarf selection.

Imperative Shop: “When you think about the super fashionable ladies, they’ve always been wearing this,” says owner Ashley Villa. “When you think about trends at all, a lot of times it’s just something classic.” Ashley’s secret to style? Taking what’s trending and making it your own. “Just because something looks good on someone else doesn’t mean it has to look good on you – and that’s okay! You can find your own way to wear something.” Ashley has been seeing the scarves and bandanas tied on purses, belt loops, keychains and used as hair accessories. You can find a variety of colors in store.

Nomad Jax Haberdashery: Manager Mandee Dieguez grew up in Texas and New Mexico and she loves the nods to Western aesthetics. “It’s a great way to pull together an outfit, especially if the rest of the outfit is more basic. Throwing on a bandana just makes it seem more polished,” says Mandee. At Nomad Jax, you can find hand dyed bananas and an assortment of bandana slides from leather to brass to fur, giving your accessories an accessory. “They’re totally retro and there are just so many ways to style them – bags, hair, clothing.”
