Carthage has a new micro venue for weddings and other events, called Magnolia Cottage Venue of Bell Ridge Farm. It can house 50 people inside and about 100 outside. Owner Crystal Smith-Ross has been event planning on the side for over 20 years and owns Deep River Charm Events. She said it took some convincing, but a building on her husband’s family farm wasn’t being used and she knew it would make a perfect event space.
Crystal opted for a French cottage feel to help set it apart from other barn event spaces in the area. The plan is to eventually add a big white pavilion that will seat 300 people.
“We’re very excited to have this and hope it helps us keep the farm as a farm. It’s so hard to keep large tracts of land together these days,” says Crystal.
