The former Blue Horse Market in Whispering Pines is about to get a facelift. The Whispering Pines Village Council approved new plans for a taproom in the empty building at 3196 Vass Carthage Road on Oct. 12.
Plans for what’s being called “The Arrowhead,” submitted to the town by John Rowley, include a taproom and a coffee shop with a drive-thru window, plus a space for food trucks, yard games and fire pits. There’s no timeline just yet, so we don’t know when its happening — but it’s happening.
“Whispering Pines has been very supportive of getting the building back into operation,” says John, who is excited to see the all the enthusiasm from the community about this project.
The name “The Arrowhead” pays tribute to the military community in the area and the arrowhead artifacts on display in the Whispering Pines Village hall. “I think we should always remember history,” says John.
What else do we know? John is has had an appreciation for the historic building for some time. He didn’t want to see it continue to deteriorate, and knew Whispering Pines needed a spot for people to hang out. “I want to make good use of the location and offer plenty to do,” says John. Stay tuned to find out what else is brewing.
