YellowBird Southern Table and Bar, the new venture by Leadmine owners Sonja McCarrell and Orlando Jinzo, has generated enough buzz to populate our social media feeds with 88 excuses we didn’t need to order a literal tower of mimosas during a working lunch.
Located at 100 Pavilion Way in Southern Pines, in the same strip that houses CharBar No. 7, YellowBird has been highly anticipated ever since its sign was hung near the fountain that faces Morganton Road.
“The concept is Southern brunch — fried chicken and champagne,” Orlando told PineStraw Magazine for its November issue. “Leadmine isn’t family oriented. We play explicit rap music on the weekends. Here? It’s family friendly. It’s literally opposite sides of the coin.”
The menu includes gems like chicken and waffles, crab cake benedict, iron-seared wagyu and bison meatloaf and, yes, everyone’s favorite Brussels sprouts. On the drink menu, you’ll find everything from a Woodford Reserve Old Fashioned to an 88-ounce mimosa tower. See the whole menu here.
YellowBird celebrates its grand opening Sunday, starting at 11 a.m. The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. this Friday-Sunday. For updates and more (and better) food porn, follow along on Instagram and Facebook — or make a reservation at (910) 725-2123.
