Here’s a look at local restaurants that will keep you out of the kitchen this holiday. Because you have more important things to worry about – like your new pet hamster who’s disappeared under a mound of wrapping paper.
Open Christmas Eve:
Olive Garden, Southern Pines: Ever heard of breadsticks roasting by an open fire? Contactless take-out and dine-in service will be available until 8 p.m.
Vitos (Pinehurst): The Santa that visits The Sway house eats pizza and beer. Vito’s is open for takeout, regular hours.
Zayka Indian Cuisine: Comfort and joy is a full plate of tikka masala. Zayka is open regular hours.
Table on the Green: Thai one on under the tree with this blended menu, available for takeout and delivery. Table on the Green is open regular hours.
Dugan’s Pub: Not a creature is stirring; except for you, digging into the leftover fish and chips. Dugan’s is open for takeout until 9 p.m.
Southern Prime: Don’t tell Rudolph, but we hear the elves like a nice medium-rare filet. Southern Prime is open regular hours for dine-in and take-out; a reservation will be needed.
Chef Warren’s: Baklava is just what our stretchy pants ordered for Christmas. Dine on the sidewalks outside Chef Warren’s, or order a family meal to go. Warren’s is offering this meal, for 6-8 people.
Benji’s: Before tucking yourself in for Santa’s arrival, tuck into a burrito wrapped up all snuggly and warm by the staff at this Aberdeen restaurant.
Pinehurst Pizza: Because eating the rainbow includes a pizza with vegetables, get on Santa’s nice list with an order from Pinehurst Pizza.
Sly Fox: Nothing pairs with getting the kids to bed early than an order of wonton nachos and a growler to-go. Open regular hours for dine-in, too.
Elliotts on Linden: That tacky sweater deserves to grace a classy establishment. Elliotts is open for dinner on Christmas Eve (you’ll want to make reservations), but is also offering a prime rib Christmas dinner special to-go. Info on all that is at the link.
Ryder Cup Lounge: Gift yourself with the Mile-High Key Lime Pie that could’ve come straight out of Mrs. Clause’s kitchen. The Ryder Cup is open from 11-10.
The Tavern (at the Holly Inn): A messy bun and fingers coated in scotch tape residue will go great with a Hot Mess Burger from this cozy little spot at Pinehurst Resort. Open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Pine Crest Inn: Get your strength for last-minute gift-wrapping with breakfast (7-11 a.m.) or lunch and dinner at the pub (3-9 p.m.). Or, make reservations for the Christmas Eve dinner.
The Deuce: A seat overlooking the 18th hole of Pinehurst No. 2 is a gift for the eyes. Taterman Tots are a gift for the rest of your senses. Open from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Ironwood: Ironwood will be open regular hours with a special Christmas Eve menu. See it here.
Drum and Quill will be open until 9 p.m. on Christmas Eve, and will have live music from 4-7 p.m.
Mi Familia in Aberdeen is offering a meal to-go, including tamales and chocolate flan. Here’s the menu.
