A Literal Hidden Gem

There’s a stone for everything — according to Debbie Rosenberger, owner of Crystals and Timber. Debbie’s daughter first introduced her to the world of crystals. “We went on this journey together,” says Debbie. “I started getting so many that my husband said ‘maybe we should start selling them.'” Husbands, keep reading before you get similar ideas about your own wife’s collections.

Debbie has been selling crystals for the past five years at various shows and pop-ups but now she has her own retail space inside The Local Mixer Studios, on E New Hampshire Avenue in Southern Pines. You’ll find gems of all sizes in all price ranges plus jewelry, candles and more.

  • Her husband, Bruce, is the “timber” portion of the business. He makes custom pens and crystal displays such as sphere stands. See? He’s all in. Debbie loves that she gets to do this with her rock.

Debbie doesn’t want anyone to be intimidated, and is more than happy to do crystal consults. Moonstone, for example, she says is for new beginnings. Citrine represents happiness and abundance. Black tourmaline is meant to be a protective stone that cleanses negative energy, one that Debbie carries with her daily. “And your needs change,” she says, “You’re not always going to need the same thing.”

Find Crystals and Timber open Wednesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. or by appointment. The grand opening is Friday, May 22 with free gifts with purchases, treats and more. Get crystal clear on the details.
