Have you ever watched HGTV’s Flip or Flop and thought, “Hey, I could do that?” So did Grace Crawford. The only difference between you and her is that she actually followed through.
Grace, who worked in digital marketing, and her husband, Jim, a carpenter by trade, quit their jobs in New York City and moved down to Moore County three years ago, creating their own house-flipping business where Grace spent her childhood summers. They named it Slygho, a nod to Jim’s Irish grandfather, who taught him all he knew about carpentry.
The two have since expanded the business into staging and decorating; and sell Jim’s furniture, Grace’s art and extra staging items in their booth atPastimes, in West End. And if this doesn’t sound like the life you should be living, just consider they make their own hours and take their dogs (Hendrix and Page) to work.
