Indulge in breads, cakes, and other goods at Lupita’s Bakery on 324 N. Walnut St. in Pinebluff. It officially opened Aug. 9 and serves up a mix of traditional Mexican breads and desserts as well as typical American bakery items.

Michel and Guadalupe Andrade-Rodriguéz moved to the area 21 years ago from Mexico. Michel has always had a passion for making breads, and has long taken orders from family and friends while having the goal of opening his own business.
Items in the shop are prepared using recipes handed down from Michel’s dad, including the bread for their sandwiches.

His daughter Michelle’s favorite thing? Concha bread— a traditional Mexican sweet bread that’s fluffy and resembles a seashell. We tried one with a brown sugar topping and they’re only $1.
The bakery is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., late in case you want to stop in for dessert, from Monday through Saturday. Be sure to bring some dough because it’s cash only.
