After months of holding classes in temporary locations, Robin Braeckel and Laura Peña are working to reopen MyGym Sandhills in a larger space in the Town and Country Shopping Center (behind Texas Roadhouse) in Aberdeen. While renovations continue, they’ve opened enrollment for summer camps as well as classes that are tentatively scheduled for the end of April.
Robin and Laura closed the doors on their original location in November in anticipation of the move, while hosting pop-up camps and classes at Forte Fitness and Encore Theater. The new space will give them room to expand programs, especially for older kids. It will also give them the opportunity to host the grand opening they couldn’t in 2020, for obvious reasons.
“We want to have a big party,” says Laura. “We want to see the community come out and support us. People are excited and ready to help us make this the big celebration we never got to have.” For updates, follow along on Instagram.
