New Truck Helps You Carbe Diem

The Breakfast Truck, aka the mystery machine, has been taunting us with its closed window at Red’s Corner. You may have been wondering what it is, when it’s opening and where did it come from — and we’ve solved the mystery for you, gang.

The truck is owned by Stephanie McRiley, who moved from Hollywood to Southern Pines for a change in pace that would allow her to spend more time with her daughter. Her most recent gig? Feeding the cast of The Goldbergs.

Stephanie and her daughter are still adjusting after their move just last year, but they’re excited for small town life. “This is the most charming town ever,” she says.

Now for the main course: The menu will change daily but you can always count on some variation of a breakfast sandwich, French toast or waffles, and breakfast burritos. There will also be grab-n-go options like parfaits, fruit cups and even charcuterie.

Stephanie prides herself on simple touches, like never serving cold syrup. “Warming up maple syrup is the simplest way to give ~that much~ extra to your breakfast,” she says.

The truck is set to open early April, with tentative hours of 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Follow the truck on Instagram and check out the website.
