Continuing a trend of gas stations repurposed to house something delicious (looking at you, High Octane) this tiny historic service shop on the corner of Aberdeen’s North Poplar Street and West Maple Avenue is now home to a home baker’s first commercial kitchen, named Sweet Fridays.

After years spent teaching middle school science and selling batches of her treats every, you guessed it, Friday, Jenny decided to take her chemical reactions more seriously. She began renovating the space, the former home of The Bunker surplus shop, in March.

“I really wanted to be legit, get inspected and make things official,’ she says. “This is art meeting science in a new form.” You won’t find set hours for now, but Jenny will be doing Friday pop-ups, custom creations and pre-orders for Thanksgiving and Christmas: like pumpkin rolls and peppermint brownie bites.
