After months of work on everything from the floors to the HVAC system — and millions spent in upgrades — Paragon Theaters is officially ready for its close-up.

The updated signage — both outside the building and near Brucewood Road — are the final touches to a renovation that began almost as soon as Paragon took over management of the theater in November 2018.

Renovation of the lobby also recently wrapped up, with a top-to-bottom overhaul of the concession stand that included new counters and floors, plus the installation of new drink and popcorn machines and all-digital menu boards.

The screens at the concession counter serve as a one-stop shop where, rather than dealing with a separate box office, moviegoers can purchase tickets right along with snacks and drinks. You can also order both ahead of time via Paragon’s app — for iPhone and Android.

Fancy drink machines include a QR code that you can scan for promotional filters from Coke.

Oh, and did we mention taps? Yes, the new Paragon will serve up beer and wine. You know, for when you need a side of merlot to go with the Minions sequel (coming this April — you’re welcome). *Note: Paragon will have wine and beer available during its ribbon cutting on Thursday, Jan. 16, but watch social media to see when full service will be available.

Not in the mood for anything salty, sweet or boozy? Just check in at one of these kiosks and your ticket comes out, hot off the printer.

And if you’re looking for a place to party, Paragon has you covered there, too. Rent this room for an hour before or after your movie for $50, and add an additional hour for $20.

Plus, if you get there too early, there’s a room of arcade games — including a sweet ride-on motorcycle racing challenge — that you can use to kill some time and show your family who’s the real winner in the bunch.

1,600? That’s not a high score.

The first renovations came to the theaters themselves, with the addition of oversized recliners — each separated by an arm rest that folds up when necessary.

Binge-eating popcorn never looked so good.

The sound system was updated. The heating and a/c was fixed. And, the bathrooms were totally gutted and re-designed.

It felt weird taking a picture of a bathroom, but this one is incredibly photogenic.

See why Paragon’s updates are earning praise from online reviewers — visit the theater in person this weekend, during its grand opening celebration. Get details on Paragon’s Facebook page.
