Mind Your Manors
The Skyline Manor, a historic guest home in Southern Pines, is on its way back to its former glory. It’s located near the Hyland Golf Club and the manor is roughly 5,500-square-feet, built in 1916 with a cottage, swimming pool, horse stables and pasture lands. According to a town report, the area was a peach farm in the early 1900s. But the property went on to serve residential, equestrian and commercial purposes, including a nightclub, bed and breakfast, and resort. The Southern Pines Planning Board gave a thumbs up to a request to rezone the property. The applicants plan to use it for a seven-room bed and breakfast inn, hosting special home events and maintaining the existing horse farm. More from The Pilot here.
