Spoiler Alert

A 400-acre tract near the Montgomery County line could be home to the new Uwharrie Motorsports Park and Resort. Plans include a 3-mile winding driving course, clubhouse, and up to 155 climate-controlled, luxury “condos” for high-end cars. And we thought we’d made it when we put a fridge in the garage.

Plans presented by parent company Autoport also include a retail shop, restaurant, event spaces and driving and golf simulators.

  • “What’s most important is in order to access the property, you don’t have to be a member. It’s going to be open for the local community. People can bring their kids out there, have a picnic and watch the cars drive by,” said Autoport CEO Kristi Maluchnik, during a recent community meeting in Robbins.

Plans are pending county approval, but construction could start next year for a spring 2027 opening. Ka-Chow.
