She Won’t Go Baking Your Heart
You may remember Rachel Marks announcing that her business, Sweet Feed, was for sale back in February. But between not finding the right match, a knee surgery and a few months off, she decided she wasn’t ready to let it go after all. “I always wanted to do just a bakery but I’ve never been brave enough because we always had food,” says Rachel. “I figured now was the right time to try it out.” After a slight rebrand, the cozy spot is now Sweet Feed: Just Desserts.

Inside you’ll find pies, cakes, bars, cake cup parfaits, sugar cookies and, of course, her signature chocolate chip cookies. “When people thought we were closing we sold 80 dozen chocolate chip cookies in two days,” says Rachel. “But hey, they’re a good thing to be known for.” Like before, customers can call in an order or stop in to see what is available.
Rachel will no longer be making food (with the exception of quiche) but Tanglewood Farms food truck will be parked onsite a few days a week for breakfast and lunch. Find Sweet Feed at 1020 N May Street, Southern Pines. Regular hours will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays. Sweet comeback.
