Wanna Be on Top?
You might be at the bottom of your fantasy league, but Talamore Golf Resort’s new Toptracer Range gives you a chance to show your opponents who’s really going the distance.
Talamore began replacing its driving range with the 10-bay Toptracer Range last November, installing high-speed cameras and computer algorithms that are able to track your ball’s distance, speed, height and more.
If you’ve been been to Top Golf, you understand the general concept. Swing alone and track your stats over time, like a big golf nerd, or bring up to four friends and challenge them to a longest drive or closest to the pin contest. Alternatively, you can play famous courses — or just hit the ball into the sea of green for a virtual game of Go Fish. We managed to catch a boot.
The range opened Friday and currently remains in its soft opening phase. An hour in a bay on the Toptracer Range starts at just $40 — and an adjacent putting green means you can work on your short game, too. There is seating for every bay, and while there’s no table service (yet), the nearby halfway house is stocked with snacks and a full bar.
