Our love language is renderings, even if they are just of regular old chain stores. The town of Southern Pines approved two this week. Here’s a look at BJ’s and Starbucks, both of which will be located in the Morganton Road development that is currently home to a giant construction dirt pyramid and will eventually be home to Target.

The Starbucks looks like, well, a Starbucks. The drive-thru lane can hold about 15 cars, and there’s a second lane in case Diggy Azalea needs to bail out before getting her puppuccino.

The BJ’s store will be 101,000 square feet, with an adjacent fuel service station. About 490 parking spaces would sit between the BJ’s and Starbucks and a walkway would connect the buildings. No opening date has been set for either business — Target is supposed to open in October 2024.
