A Hole In (C)one
A new ice cream shop is currently in the rough. Mulligans Creamery, a golf-themed ice cream shop, is being served by husband and wife team Greg Michas and Dawn Spring. The couple’s favorite pastime is golf, especially when it includes a post-game ice cream run. “We needed a premium ice cream shop near Pinehurst,” says Dawn, so they decided to create their own.

After searching for a few years, they landed on 439 Capital Drive, Carthage (near Moore County Airport). The shop is still under construction and they are aiming for a late July opening. Customers will be able to order milkshakes, sundaes and scoops with on-theme names. Instead of one scoop, two scoops, it’s bogey, double bogey, birdie etc. With 32 flavors to choose from as well as vegan and dairy-free options, we just hope they don’t miss the opportunity for an Arnold Palmer flavor. They’re teeing it up.
